Student Council Update
It’s been a very busy time for the BHS Student Council lately!
On Tuesday we met with the Mayor and Mayoress of Douglas who are now nearing the end of the their time in office. We had loads of questions for them and it was very interesting indeed to hear their answers. We talked about what they had enjoyed most, how they had managed literally hundreds of engagements and even what they thought of same sex marriage! It was very interesting to hear all about the plans that are in place to improve our home town and make it an even more attractive place to come to live in. Thank you Mr and Mrs Skinner for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and see us and on behalf of all the staff and students of BHS, we would like to thank you for your public service and wish you well in the future. Time to chill out!
Yesterday we were excited to be able to present a cheque for £200 to the Island’s Wish Upon a Dream Charity. We raised some of the money at our Christmas Fair stall. You may remember that we made cookies? Well we sold loads! We would also like to thank Ms Burnett for making our total up a little to help us reach our target.
The work continues and we are still working on improving recycling at BHS and turning our heads to thinking about how we can get more of us to ride our bikes to school. We always welcome new members so please come and join us every other Wednesday!
Bye for now
