Langness House Update
What a busy start to the new academic year! It seems only yesterday since we started school in September but so much has gone on! Chloe Liu’s netball team won the league and she also came 7th in the cheerleading competition in the UK. Leah Mellor has TWICE represented the island swimming team in UK competitions. Leo Fox has been selected for football trials for Morecambe Football Club and most recently, Katie Kissack was a flag bearer on Remembrance Day. And if that’s not enough, Deniz Yenituran has been chosen to represent the Island in a Squash tournament in Liverpool in March!
A special mention has to go out for 11LM4 who designed and refitted ‘Fairy Doors’ at the Summerhill Glen, which were vandalised last year. The form took it upon themselves to design and outfit the fairy doors to replace the local landmark. Thank you for their time and compassion to let fairies back into our human world! Amazing participation and drive from Langness students.
In more recent news, the Christmas Fair is our next main focus, with hampers coming thick and fast, as well as a VERY EARLY Christmas cheer! Our fair will be on Friday 30th November from 6pm to 8pm with a 50p entry fee, which goes straight towards clubs, events and books at school – come on down and savour the flavour from out varied food stalls, have a go at the fair-inspired games and fantastic range of Christmas themed stalls!
