Hillary House Update
Hi everyone, and a late happy new year from all the prefects.
Last term was extremely successful, with an outstanding £311,11 raised for our chosen charities, Mannin Sepsis and, of course, our Action Aid child Magret. We achieved this through a cake sale and selling candy canes, Christmas cards and holding a raffle at the BHS Christmas market last year. Thank you to everyone who helped out!
This term, we have big plans. We have designed a custom Ballakermeen water bottle, which will significantly reduce the environmental impact of our school, and save parents and guardians lots of money. At present, collectively we buy 3,400 water bottles per week, which is an average of 2 bottles per student per week. If we all buy Ballakermeen water bottles, we can reduce this number drastically.
On top of our water bottle sale, we have organised a food sale at break, which will be on in the near future. Also, if you wish to fundraise for our charities outside of school, please contact Miss L Clarke. Any help would be much appreciated!
As prefects, we are very much enjoying our role and are finding it very rewarding. We have contributed to ideas and planning for house charity fundraising activities and are currently planning future events.
We hope you all have a great term.
Josh (Hillary House Prefect)
