Hillary House: November Update

Categories: Hillary, Houses,

Welcome to the two new Year 7 form groups in Hillary House.  Welcome to Mr I’Anson, Mr Johnson, Mrs Wilson, Miss McCloskey, Mr Ball, Mrs Lewin Mr Hotham and Mr Shimmin as Hillary House form tutors.

It has been a very busy first half term for the staff and students in Hillary House.

I am very proud of how hard the students worked last year, as a result they were awarded the House Cup, The image shows the Year 11 Prefects Collecting the Cup from Assistant Headteacher Mr Redmayne.

On 30 September students from 7HC4, 7HT6 and 8HL11 took part in ‘The Big Tidy Up’, an initiative promoted by Douglas Borough Council.

Suitably kitted with gloves and armed with litter pickers, Mr Johnson, Mr I’Anson, Mrs Babb and the students from their tutor groups, helped to clear the front of the school from rubbish.  Collecting 5 large black bin bags of rubbish.  Mrs Babb said: ‘It was great to see even more students take part this year, I would like to thank the tutor groups for helping and giving something back to the school community’.

The two charities that Hillary House will be raising money for this academic year are:  Rebecca House and the RNLI.
