Empathy Lab at Ballakermeen
Ballkermeen Library’s work on developing activities around Empathy Day (in June each year) has been recognised in this year’s Empathy Lab School Starter Toolkit where our library is featured as a ‘case study’ for other high schools to follow when planning Empathy Day activities.
Librarian Ros Alcock said, ‘It is great to have Ballakermeen’s work highlighted in this way; empathy day focusses on the way that reading fiction can build empathy and understanding in the reader, a life skill that can only be good for the individual and for society as a whole. We are delighted that Ballakermeen’s students are leading the way in taking part in this. ’
